Deut. 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Amos 3: 7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Pro. 3:32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

          Let's connect with Ps. 25:14 on the word fear. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Pr. 1:7 Notice another word we will connect with - knowledge. Lk. 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge ...

          So we see that the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord, and this key has been taken away from our schools, government, and even from our own Christian circles. The word fear here means a respectful dread, awe, or reverence for God. "'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved." I thank God for the fear of God, for without it I wouldn't have gotten saved. The fear of God restrains me from doing a lot of things I shouldn't do. Because the fear of God has been taken away from our schools, (no prayer, no Bibles, no Ten Commandments, no mention of God) the students have gone wild. Now instead of fearing God, their greatest fear at school is that of being shot by their fellow students. Our founding fathers of this country displayed great respect and fear of God in all their writings and laws, but now our president has so little fear of God that he uses his Oval Office for immoral love affairs. God warns in his word in Revelation 22:18 - 19 For I testify, unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Now in our Christian circles, so-called scholars have no fear of God to restrain them from messing with His book. Pr. 30:5 says Every word of God is pure ...They think nothing of switching words and phrases. Since the Bible is like a puzzle with interconnecting pieces, vital connections are lost when words are changed or left out. In the NIV the word hidden is left out in Is. 45:5. That is one of the key words I selected for this study. The New American version changes riches to wealth. That messed up another connection of our puzzle. In Pr. 1:7 knowledge is changed to insight in the NIV and it is changed to discernment in the New KJV, In 11 Tim. 2:15 the New American changes rightly dividing the word of truth to handling accurately the word of truth. This leaves out a whole method of Bible study, for there are divisions in the Bible, and we must always regard the context of verses in forming major doctrines. Rom. 1:22 sums it up nicely. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. George Washington Carver ( inventor of peanut butter who found over 300 uses of the peanut) claimed that God revealed his secrets to him. He was a born again Christian who always maintained a healthy fear of God. His laboratory was called "God's little workshop." In Job, 28:28 we read And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom: and to depart from evil is understanding. The whole chapter of Job 28 is comparing wisdom(the fear of the Lord) to jewels of all kinds. Here are the gems listed: gold, silver, onyx, sapphire, crystal, coral, pearls, rubies, and topaz. Wisdom is greater than all of these jewels. Job 28:21 says Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living ... - another key word - hid. Let's hold fast to the secret of the Lord, that our knowledge and wisdom might increase.
