This pointer will take you back to the index for special days, Christmas, Thanksgiving, this page, a safe page site for children, My totally Christian site, and a bunch more I'm working on!
I'm so glad your here! I hope and pray you enjoy your visit with me. My pages are different for one very important reason, I am a Born again, Bible believing Commited Christian and because of that, this site will reflect my beliefs.

I look at St. Patrick's Day much different now... since becoming a Christian. But I still feel it is a day I need to take pride in, since somewhere in my ancestors past, they lived in Ireland and passed along to me my Irish background.

Growing up, my father was so "into" this day. It was so important to him that we wear a "bit o the green" that day. Mom would cook special food and Dad even went so far as to buy us girls flowers to wear at school! He loved to whistle "Danny Boy" and anything Irish he could remember. I remember him having a tie that had shamrocks and would tease my mom for not wearing green herself. (she is French) and I think she enjoyed getting his goat so to speak in not wearing it!

"When Irish Eyes are Smiling"

kiss me im irish ;-)
When Irish eyes are smiling
Sure it's like a morn in spring
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing
dancing mouse
When Irish hearts are happy
All the world seems bright and gay
And when Irish eyes are smiling
Sure they steal your heart away

Did you know that St. Patrick was not even Irish? Surprised? St. Patrick was born in Roman Britain, around 389. When he was 16, he was sold into slavery to Ireland where he was a shepherd for 6 years. While in captivity he studied and turned to religion. He escaped slavery and later returned to Ireland as a missionary, determined to convert Ireland to Christianity.

One traditional icon of the day is the shamrock. And this stems from how Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the Trinity. He used it in his sermons to represent how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity. His followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on his feast day. Many have trouble believing that the trinity exists.. I really don't understand that! For instance, lets consider this I am a granddaughter, a daughter, AND a sister. Why is it so hard to understand and believe that the God who created us, can not be 3 in one also? The Bible says:
1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

YEP! I know this a favorite saying, however, I believe there is no such thing as luck. Not for the Irish, the French, the heathen nor the Christian. I believe everything happens for a purpose. The Bible says:
Galations 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For the Christian, it is not luck--it is the BLESSINGS OF GOD!!
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

When ever you see a rainbow in relationship to St. Patrick's Day it is because of the "pot of gold" that lore says exists. For me the my "pot of gold" is eternity with God because I'm saved. As with everything beautiful God created the rainbow.. and do you know what he says we are to remember when ever we see one? The Bible says:
Ge 9:12-14 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
